Holistic Massage draws different techniques from different massage traditions to provide a treatment that is tailored to your individual needs at the time of treatment, be that physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
It is an individually tailored treatment that suits each individual client’s needs. It’s believed that massage therapy is more effective if the treatment is specifically designed to suit an individual person. There is no ‘one size fits all’, I don’t follow a set routine and therefore no two massages will ever be the same.
You may want a massage for a specific reason, such as for a health condition, illness or an injury, you may have some aches and pains that need soothing or you may just want some ‘me-time’ to relax and pamper yourself. Whether your needs are physical, mental, emotional or spiritual you will receive an individual massage to suit you.
The techniques used are loosely based on Swedish massage, using effleurage and petrissage strokes, but many other techniques may also be included if appropriate.

Indian Head Massage is a traditional Ayervedic treatment, passed down through the generations in Indian culture.
Indian Head massage is used to rebalance you and so is tailored with slightly different movements and techniques to give a different energetic feel to each treatment, depending on the client’s needs on the day.
Indian Head massage has been somewhat ‘westernised’ and can now include upper back, shoulders, arms and hands. It can be performed seated without oil and recipients can remain fully clothed.
The great thing about massage is that it can be easy to incorporate different techniques into every treatment, therefore if you’d like to experience an Indian Head massage there’s nothing to stop you from asking to receive it laying on the massage table, or even to incorporate some of the head massage techniques into your regular session.
Before the massage:
The appointment will begin with taking a brief medical history and a conversation about what you would like to get out of your massage so we can formulate a plan together. I will leave the room to let you undress, and when I return will provide cushions and pillows to make you as comfortable as possible.
I work with drapes/sheets to protect your privacy at all times so you can undress as much or as little as is comfortable for you.
After the Massage:
When the massage has finished I will leave the room to let you re-dress and return with a refreshing glass of water for you.
We will have another chat to see how you are feeling now. so we can see (or feel) if there have been any changes.
I will then provide some aftercare advise such as stretches or strengthening exercises, or relaxation techniques, that may keep you feeling the benefits until your next session.
